| The latest addition to the ranks of Furness Mark Lodge No 36 is Alan Pattinson who was advanced into the order at a meeting in Barrow Masonic Hall. |

| Alan is the hard-working secretary of the Furness and South Lakeland group of lodges and chapters. As is the norm at Furness Mark Lodge the master’s work in the ceremony of advancement was divided into three parts with WM Peter Schofield displaying excellence in the field of delegation. |
| Brain Davey undertook the first part and was followed by Ian Cottam who handed over to John Parrott for the final section. The fact that they each had their own style of delivering the ritual added to the enjoyment and the trio can reflect on jobs very well done. |

| On the evening Graham Benson was declared as master elect for the ensuing year. It will be a busy 12 months for Graham as he has recently been notified that he will be promoted to the rank of acting steward at the next meeting of Provincial Grand Chapter. He also held that role in the craft. Graham has at least one candidate for advancement next year so it should prove a fruitful one for both him and Furness Mark Lodge. |
